Dimensions and configuration variable. 8’ x 10’-6” x 10’

2023

Heavy cast glass objects hang suspended on taut strips of translucent fabric, balanced but not attached, they sway when touched. The possibility of brushing up against them makes the viewer uneasy within the structure. Yet one must get close to look down into the watery glass and view the ghostly images suspended within. White images, some partial or faded, of spoons, keys, birds, and family portraits float deep in the glass.

Time becomes a factor in this work as the fabric will continue to stretch slowly over the course of the installation. The strain on the fabric increases, the objects fall further. This work speaks to the weight and tension of the past and our memories.
